President and CEO
Brian J. Browne, M.D., FACEP, has been a leader in Emergency Medicine at the University of Maryland Medical Center since 1985, when he was recruited to join a team of young physicians and asked to start an Emergency Medicine program. A native of Brooklyn, he received fellowship training in Emergency Medicine at Harvard Medical School and completed an internal medicine residency at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. Dr. Browne’s medical degree is from SUNY Downstate Medical Center, and his undergraduate degree in biology is from Syracuse University.
Dr. Browne has published more than 40 journal articles and book chapters. He is a popular speaker at professional forums in this country and abroad. In 2009, Dr. Browne received the Master Teacher of Emergency Medicine Award presented by SUNY Downstate. In 2010, he was named a Top Doc in Emergency Medicine by Baltimore Magazine.
