SAMUEL M. KEIM, M.D., M.S.
Dr. Keim is Professor and Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) and Professor of Public Health, Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health. He also is Director of the statewide, Arizona Emergency Medicine Research Center (AEMRC).
Dr. Keim has held national leadership positions with the American Board of Emergency Medicine, the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and the Emergency Medicine Council of Residency Directors. Prior to accepting the position of Department Chair, Dr. Keim served as the Residency Program Director for twenty-one years. He has held leadership positions within the clinical practice environment as well, including Board Chair of University Physicians Healthcare, and served as a member of the University of Arizona Health Network Practice Plan Oversight Board. The DEM/AEMRC research productivity ranks 18th nationally in the specialty of Emergency Medicine.
